About: Once known from Aki Kaurismäki’s movies as “the ultimate cult band”, the band’s worldwide respected for their unique live shows. During the 20+ years they have performed more than 1000 shows in more than 60 countries. They have produced massive joint concerts with the Red Army Choir, confused audiences at the MTV Music Awards, performed with classical orchestras and played in hundreds of festivals and clubs. In 2009 Dirk Behlau became the official photographer & filmmaker for the band.

The legendary Leningrad Cowboys is making a comeback and will be touring Finland after a twelve-year hiatus.

However, Russia’s acts against Ukraine has led to changes in the band’s name and the lineup for major concerts. The group will now perform under the new name LC Cowboys, with Harlem Angels as the backing choir.

Leningrad Cowboys was founded in 1987 and became a part of Finnish music history through their performances with the Red Army Choir in the early 1990s. Before going on hiatus in 2013, Leningrad Cowboys had performed in over sixty countries, giving numerous concerts around the world.

On their comeback tour called "Tis is tö komepäk", the LC Cowboys lineup includes Sakke Järvenpää, Pauli Hauta-Aho, Okke Komulainen, Sami Järvinen, Aino Laakso, Hanna Moisala, Esa Niiva, Anna Sainila, Ville Tuomi, Timo Tolonen, Tume Uusitalo, and Varre Vartiainen.

The Leningrad Cowboys are teaming up once again with director and visual artist Dirk Behlau in 2025. This renewed collaboration marks an exciting new chapter for the band, starting with the launch of a brand-new official website. Fans can look forward to fresh content, updated visuals, and more surprises as the Cowboys and Behlau bring their creative energy back together.
